old people are dumb (except me)
a lot of you guys know that i am in my thirties. a lot of you also know that i grew up in florida. the combination of these two items means that many people whom i count amongst my friends are now bonafide ‘southern dads’, which in turn means that i am exposed to a whole lot of embarrassing things that most people only think exist in the world of parody
for instance, today this was posted on facebook by an old friend:
Heh. Do you get it? Isn’t that clever? See, it’s funny because these damn kids today and their autotune and drum machines and black-people music.
For what it’s worth, Schoenberg never played an instrument in his life, and John Mackey and tons of other modern classical composers studied music without studying instrumentalism. But what the fuck do I know? I make rap music.
